Clubs and PSOs invited to submit projects under the new Club Assistance Program (CAP)

(Ottawa, ON – January 21, 2019) The Water Polo Canada Club Assistance Program (CAP) is now open for submission for the 2018-2019 season. Formerly known as the Domestic Development Financial Assistance Program (DDFAP), the CAP provides financial assistance and services support to clubs and Provincial Water Polo Associations (PSO) towards their already existing grassroots and educational initiatives and springboard the development of new initiatives.

Since 2015, the Assistance Program has helped fund over 55 projects, and more than 30,000$ were invested in domestic development projects in the following areas:

  • Children’s water polo programs 12 and under
  • Referee training and evaluation
  • Coach training and evaluation

This year, clubs and PSOs are invited to apply to access funding of up to 1,250$ per project, with an annual maximum of two projects and 2,500$ per organization. The submitted projects must take place in the program year determined as of September 1, 2018 – August 31, 2019.

The organizations have until Friday, February 22, 2019 to submit their projects. The submission may be presented on a retroactive basis.
