Canadian teams set to compete at the 2019 UANA Cup in Brazil

(Sao Paulo, Brazil, January 21, 2019) - The Senior National Teams arrived in Sao Paulo to take part in the 2019 UANA Cup set to start tomorrow. The Canadian squads will be looking to qualify for the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea. The top two teams from each category will clinch their spots for Worlds next summer.

The Canadian Women will start the tournament against the host nation, Brazil on January 22nd, 2019 at 3:30 PM Local / 12:30 PM EST. Canada will face Cuba the day after, with the finals scheduled for January 26, 2019.

In the Men’s competition, four nations will battle for the two available spots in a round-robin tournament followed by the semi-finals and the finals on Saturday, January 26, 2019. The Canadian Men spent the last week in Los Angeles training in preparation for the competition. They will start their tournament against Brazil, January 26, 2019, at 6:30 PM Local time / 3:30 PM EST. The full schedule is available below.
