As a left-handed driver she represented the Mavericks Water Polo Club and played for the University of Southern California. During her time at USC, she won two national championships in 2018 and 2021, noting that these are her best memories in the sport so far. She graduated with a degree in Real Estate Development. After her time at USC, Verica went on to play a few seasons abroad in Europe. During the 2021-2022 season she competed with Ethnikos Water Polo Club in Greece where she won the Len Trophy. The following season she competed in Barcelona with Club Esportiu Mediterrani. Verica Bakoc represented Canada at the 2022, 2023 and 2024 World Aquatics Championships and won a silver medal at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. Being part of a team is the aspect she loves most about water polo. Her goal is to win a medal at the Olympic Games.

En tant que meneuse lançant de la gauche, elle a représenté le Mavericks Water Polo Club et a joué pour University of Southern California. Pendant son séjour à l'USC, elle a remporté deux championnats nationaux en 2018 et 2021, ce qui représente toujours ses meilleurs souvenirs dans le sport jusqu’ici. Elle a obtenu un diplôme en développement immobilier. Après son passage à l'USC, Verica a joué quelques saisons à l'étranger, en Europe. Au cours de la saison 2021-2022, elle a évolué au sein du Ethnikos Water Polo Club en Grèce, où elle a remporté le trophée Len. La saison suivante, elle a joué à Barcelone avec le Club Esportiu Mediterrani. Verica Bakoc a représenté le Canada aux Championnats de World Aquatics 2022, 2023 et 2024 et a remporté une médaille d'argent aux Jeux panaméricains de Santiago 2023. Faire partie d'une équipe est l'aspect qu'elle aime le plus dans le water-polo. Son objectif est de remporter une médaille aux Jeux olympiques.
