Lima 2019: Canada tops Peru to earn a second win at Pan Am Games

(Lima, Peru – August 5, 2019) – The Canadian women’s team dominated their matchup against the young Peruvian squad to earn a second win at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. Canada showed an impressive 15-0 lead at halftime with Axelle Crevier and Emma Wright scoring three goals each in the first half. Despite the gap between the two nations, the Peruvians rewarded their fans by tallying two goals in the second half to bring the final score to 28-2.


Crevier and Wright led the way for the Canadians with five goals apiece. Monika Eggens, Shae Fournier, Hayley McKelvey, and Kyra Christmas each had three goals for Canada while Krystina Alogbo, Joelle Bekhazi, and Kelly McKee netted doubles.


The Canadian women will face Mexico tomorrow at 12:30 pm local time (1:30 pm ET) to conclude the preliminary round.
