Director of Finance and Administration, Ms. Diane Gagné to retire at the end of September

(September 30, 2020, Ottawa, ON) - Water Polo Canada (WPC) would like to congratulate and send its best wishes to Ms. Diane Gagné, Director of Finance and Administration, who recently announced her retirement from our national sport organization.

Ms. Gagné joined Water Polo Canada in 1990, first on a part-time basis and then full-time until 2005. She then held a similar position for nearly seven years at Athletics Canada before returning to Water Polo. Canada in 2012. Ms. Gagné has since served as Director of Finance and Administration at Water Polo Canada's head office in Ottawa.

"On behalf of everyone at Water Polo Canada, I would like to thank Diane for her work and dedication to our organization. She has left her mark in our community, and we wished her a well-deserved and happy retirement," indicated Conrad Hadubiak, President of Water Polo Canada.

"Diane will have left her mark on the Canadian sport system in many ways. I will particularly remember her great integrity, professionalism, and great knowledge of the files for which she was responsible. On a personal note, I would say that Diane is one of those you could always count on; in good or bad times. She is the kind of colleague who makes working life more enjoyable and makes a difference for the organization. I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart and wish her all the best," added Martin Goulet, Water Polo Canada's Executive Director.

At this time, Water Polo Canada would also like to welcome Mr. Eric Smith, who will take over as Manager of Finance and Administration. Having worked for several organizations, Mr. Smith has extensive experience within the Canadian sport system. In-office since September 8, he was able to work alongside Ms. Gagné for a few weeks to ensure a smooth transition.
