Rebekka Steenkamer appointed to the position of Sport Development Manager

(Ottawa, ON – November 20, 2020) – Water Polo Canada (WPC) is pleased to announce that Rebekka Steenkamer has been appointed to the Sport Development Manager position. She will be taking over the role and responsibilities previously carried out by Grace Quinn-Cameron.

As Sport Development Manager, Steenkamer will be responsible for domestic programming elements, including grassroots initiatives, national coaching and official certification and safe sport. The Sport Development Manager collaborates with the Provincial Sport Organizations and Clubs and manages membership services, including the national registration database.

Steenkamer holds a Master of Human Kinetics (Sport Management Profile) degree from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Sciences with a Major in Exercise Science from Concordia University. She first joined WPC as an intern in 2019 and then was hired as a Sport Development Assistant last year. Steenkamer also has a strong water polo background; she was a member of the Canadian National Team Program from 2008 to 2013 and played on the Junior and Senior National Teams. She also has coachin g experience at the club level.
