Water Polo Canada names Jasmine Northcott as new Chief Executive Officer

Thursday, January 9, 2025

Ottawa, January 9, 2025 - Water Polo Canada (WPC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Jasmine Northcott as Chief Executive Officer, effective February 10, 2025.

Jasmine Northcott brings with her over 20 years of experience at all levels of the Canadian sport system. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated her skills as a leader, as a relationship builder and communicator, and as a strategic business manager, creating synergies to maximize resources and opportunities.

Jasmine has been Chief Executive Officer for the Shooting Federation of Canada since 2023, and was Chief Executive Officer of Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada from 2015 to 2023. Jasmine has also acted as the interim Chief Executive Officer for Ringette Canada and interim High-Performance Director at Queen’s University. She started her career in sport with AthletesCAN, where she worked from 2001 and 2015, and held the role of Executive Director from 2007 to 2015.

Jasmine has built an extensive network of connections through her work with Canadian National Sport and Multisport Organizations and through contributions to the Summer NSO Sport Caucus, where she has served as a member of the Executive since 2020 and as Co-Chair since 2021. Jasmine has also given back to the sport community as a board member of the True Sport Foundation from 2005 to 2024 and as a Board member of Canadian Women & Sport from 2006 to 2012.

"I am honoured and thrilled to join Water Polo Canada," said Jasmine Northcott. "This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside a talented team to drive innovation, growth, and success. Together, we will build on the strong foundation that has been laid and take Water Polo Canada to new heights. I look forward to joining the Water Polo Canada community and contributing to the growth, development and excellence of the sport."

“I am excited to welcome Jasmine to Water Polo Canada”, said Water Polo Canada’s President, Kathleen Dawson. “As a first-hand observer of the great work she has done in recent years with the Summer NSO Sport Caucus, I am excited for everything she will bring to our organization. Jasmine’s breadth of experience in Canadian sport management and advocacy, together with her passion for building relationships and lifelong learning, will benefit Water Polo Canada greatly.”
