Montreal, March 7th, 2022. Water Polo Canada presents the Women's and Men's Senior National Teams who are currently in Lima, Peru from March 7-13 for the 2022 FINA Water Polo World League Intercontinental Cup.

This is the first competition for both teams since the end of the Olympic cycle leading to the Tokyo Games in July 2021. The objective of this week competition is to secure a place for the World Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary, from June 18 to July 3, 2022 and for the FINA World League Super Finals scheduled for July 2022. For the Women's Team, the qualification for the World Championships is already assured, but for the Men's Team, it will be necessary to finish among the first two Pan American countries of the tournament (excluding the USA) to secure a place in Hungary. The presence in the Super Final, for both Women’s and Men’s Teams, will be obtained by finishing in the top 4 this week at the 2022 FINA Intercontinental Cup.
