Water Polo Canada announces the 2023 NCL 17U Eastern Conference All-Star Teams

CAMO, Capital Wave, Mavericks, Shadow Water Polo and South Central clubs will all be represented at the 2023 NCL 17U National Championships

Ottawa, April 19, 2023 - Water Polo Canada announces the members of the National Championships League (NCL) 17U Eastern Conference All-Star Teams following the conclusion of the NCL 17U Eastern Conference Championships on Sunday, April 16th, in Montreal.

At the conclusion of the three-day competition, the following teams qualified for the NCL 17U National Finals to be held May 25-27 in Calgary. On the men’s side, CAMO 1, Mavericks Black, Mavericks Red and South Central clubs all qualified, while on the women’s side, CAMO, Capital Wave, Mavericks Black and Shadow Water Polo Club also secured their ticket for the NCL 17U National Finals event after finishing top-4. Mavericks Water Polo Club Black won both men’s and women’s championships in Montreal.

These eight clubs will be joined by teams from Western Canada following the NCL 17U Western Conference Championships being held May 5-7, also in Calgary.

The All-Star Teams members were selected following a vote by the team coaches present at the 2023 NCL 17U Eastern Conference Championships.

The NCL 17U Eastern Conference regular season events started in November, with a total of 18 teams participating. Final results are available through the Water Polo Canada website at https://www.waterpolo.ca/article/80050.

The NCL U17 Eastern Conference Championships are part of Water Polo Canada National Championship League (NCL), which was created in 2014 to bring the domestic club age group programs under a country wide umbrella that promotes the development of the sport. The NCL offers three categories of play: Senior, 17U, and 15U.
