Water Polo Canada announces the 2024 NCL 17U Western Conference All-Star Teams

Calgary Renegades, Edmonton Tsunami, Fraser Valley, Pacific Storm and Team Sask clubs will all be represented at the 2024 NCL 17U National Finals

Ottawa, April 24, 2024 - Water Polo Canada announces the members of the National Championships League (NCL) 17U Western Conference All-Star Teams following the conclusion of the NCL 17U Western Conference Finals on Sunday, April 21st, in Saskatoon, SK.

At the conclusion of the three-day competition, the following teams qualified for the NCL 17U National Finals to be held May 24-26 in Montreal. On the men’s side, Edmonton Tsunami, Fraser Valley, Pacific Storm and Teams Sask clubs all qualified, while on the women’s side, Calgary Renegades (Black and Gold), Fraser Valley and Team Sask clubs also secured their spot after finishing top 4. Team Sask and Fraser Valley won the women’s and men’s Western Conference Finals event, respectively, in Saskatoon.

These eight clubs will be joined by the top 4 teams from each gender from Eastern Canada who qualified following the NCL 17U Eastern Conference Finals held a couple of weeks ago: CAMO 1, Mavericks, Shadow and South Central on the men’s side, and CAMO, Capital Wave, Shadow and South Central on the women’s side.

The All-Star Teams members were selected following a vote by the team coaches present at the 2024 NCL 17U Western Conference Finals.

The NCL 17U Western Conference regular season events started in November, with a total of 14 teams participating.

The NCL U17 Western Conference Finals are part of Water Polo Canada National Championship League (NCL), which was created in 2014 to bring the domestic club age group programs under a country wide umbrella that promotes the development of the sport. The NCL offers three categories of play: Senior, 17U, and 15U.
