High Performance Development Strategy

Over the past year, our National Team High Performance staff has taken time to evaluate the current landscape of our High Performance Programming beginning from the Senior National Team to the Age Group National Teams all the way to our domestic programs.

Over this time, it has been made apparent that we must attempt to achieve two goals in relation to High Performance:

  1. Increase the level of training and athletic ability of our future and current Age Group National Team athletes,
  2. Increase the dissemination of information from the Senior National Teams to our membership.

Water Polo Canada has put together a High Performance Development Strategy to describe current and future initiatives to further develop the next generation of athletes.  Present in the document below you will find new terminology that has recently been developed throughout the Canadian Sport System and that Water Polo Canada will integrate over the coming years.

Water Polo Canada - Regional Development Strategy - November 2019

This strategy will remain flexible as change is a normal occurrence in any High Performance environment, however core elements will continue and will allow Water Polo Canada to further achieve Key Success Indicators 3.2.1 from our newly adopted Strategic Plan.
